The Wizard of Oz is a 1939 American musical fantasy filmproduced by Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer. It was directed primarily by Victor Fleming.Based on the 1900 fairytale novel, The Wonderful Wizard of Oz by L. Frank Baum, the film stars Judy Garland, Ray Bolger, Jack Haley, Bert Lahr, and Frank Morgan, with Billie Burke, Margaret Hamilton, Charles Grapewin, Clara Blandick and the Singer Midgets as the Munchkins.
Gladys Boalt ornaments are completely handmade in the United States. Their designs are traditional and share unique characteristics. Each face is hand painted and each figure is adorned with hand-sewn, painted, and applied clothing. Every Boalt ornament is signed and copyright dated. In 1980, these wonderful ornaments were selected for the White House Tree by Nancy Reagan thus paving the way for their admission to the Smithsonian.
